Happy World Animal Day! Today you probably pet your pets a little extra and give them some extra candy. But have you ever thought of treating your furry, feathery or even prickly friend(s) on an adventure? You probably think pets are part of settling down – they kind of embody a domestic environment, right? Wrong! Travellin with pets is like travelling with kids: it might seem difficult at first, but then you find out people do it all the time and BOOM: mind is blown and you want to do it too. We’ve found some awesome animals that travel the world, proving travel is for everyone!
These two cute bunnies prove you can’t be too small to travel! Honestly, we had never even thought about bringing a rabbit along with travelling, let alone two! Especially rabbit Toffy loves their Europe trip, check out #smile_like_toffy. For their humans it can be a bit more stressful: the bunnies aren’t always allowed on flights.
We bet you haven’t been jealous of a hen before. Let us change that for you! Meet Monique, the sailing hen. Not only are her sailing adventures amazing, but her human is also pretty handsome (and already proposed to her, so forget about it!). They’ve been sailing together since 2014 and are on a mission to sail from North- to Southpole. So far, they’ve covered the Canary Islands, Caribbean, Greenland, and made it all the way to the other side of Canada.
Hedgehog London was adopted into a diverse family: his brothers are two dogs called Watson and Kiko and a cat named Harry. They’re having a total blast together and share their journey with a positive message “paws love with no judgment”. It’s an adorable unlikely story of odd couples, love and kindness.
Felix went on a castle-trip just like we did! And honestly, Felix does it much better, don’t you think? His human loves castles possibly more than we do and it makes for the most fairytale-like pictures. And this must be a record of some sorts: Felix is just 1 year old and has travelled to 16 countries already!
Christopher the Mini-Pig has probably seen more of North-America than you did, and just within two years! His humans are much better than his previous ones: they abandoned him. Luckily Marilyn and Jonathan rescued him and ever since, bring him on their journeys. So far, Christopher has travelled over 36.000 kilometres and has over 60k followers on Instagram!
Talking about records: this cute lady Suki is only 1,5 years old and can hike up to 4 kilometres all by herself. And when she’s tired, her human takes her into the coolest cat-carrying device ever: she looks like a little astronaut in it! Suki loves nature and is a true adventure cat. She doesn’t just hike, she flies, drives and kayaks: there’s nothing she can’t do.
Not only North-America and Europe are great places to travel with animals, and Chapati is proof of that. This little pup was born in India and not long after that, humans Eugene and Kristina fell in love with him. They were backpacking, so naturally, Chapati became a backpacker too. Together they’ve seen many countries like Thailand, Nepal, but also closer to the human’s home: Ukraine and Europe.
Frankie is one lucky pet goat! His humans had already raised children were ready for the next adventure. They sold their bar, house & went road tripping in a vintage Airstream trailer. Aside from awesome creative humans who made the trailer into an artwork, Frankie also has a fun older sister: dog Maggie. Together they’ve seen 28 States already and have taken pics in the most amazing places!
