Pakse Hotel is housed in a historical building, a former cinema and casino. Its location is perfect, right in the city centre of Pakse and close to the Mekong river. The airport is just 3 kilometres away from the hotel. One of the gems of the hotel is the rooftop bar and restaurant on top of the hotel: Le Panorama. It makes for a fantastic view over the city, Mekong river and the beautiful nature surrounding Pakse. Sunset is the perfect moment to visit the rooftop, not only you will see the sun setting, it’s a happy hour as well. It’s the perfect spot for a delicious cocktail.
Immediately when entering the hotel you feel the relaxed vibes that characterise Pakse. There interior of the hotel is a mix of local cultural heritage and modernity with many green aspects, which we love. We are welcomed open armed and feel at home right away. We don’t need to worry about our bags, they are brought to our room.
Always great: they provide us with a double bed. No need to be awkward and ask for it. The room is perfect. It even has multiple chairs and tables, great to work on. The bed is big and super comfy. Something Maartje likes most: there’s a bathtub! To finish all our needs: there’s a little fridge (handy for cooling drinking water with the hot weather), a water cooker and coffee & tea.
The breakfast at Pakse Hotel is beyond our expectations. It’s so delicious. Often we find there’s a huge variety of Asian food but at this buffet, it’s definitely a mix between cuisines. From sweet pancakes to fresh spring rolls to salads to omelettes, you can find it all at the breakfast buffet. There’s also a wide variety of drinks. Especially the water flavoured with fruits and vegetables is something we don’t see very often. It’s the perfect start of the day.
Le Panorama is the name of the restaurant on the rooftop of the hotel. It’s open from 04:30 PM to 11:30 PM, with a happy hour from 5 PM to 6 PM. On the menu, you can find a variety of Asian food and Western food, like pizza, pasta and steaks.
Le Patio de Noy is the restaurant downstairs, next to the reception, where breakfast is served. From 11 AM to 2 PM it’s also possible to lunch at Le Patio de Noy. When the weather conditions aren’t good, Le Panorama will close and you can get dinner at Le Patio de Noy.
The hotel isn’t only a great place to relax; it’s also perfect for some exercising. There’s a fitness every hotel guest can use. Open from 8 AM to 8 PM.
